NOT EVERY ROOF SHOULD BE BUILT THE SAME

Choose the level of protection that fits your home, your budget & your risk.

Roof replacement is no longer just a shingle decision. Wind and hail deductibles are higher, insurance coverage varies widely, and the way the entire roof system is built can matter just as much as the shingle on top.

NOT EVERY ROOF SHOULD BE BUILT THE SAME

Choose the level of protection that fits your home, your budget & your risk.

FORTIFIED focuses on how the roof deck, edges, penetrations, underlayment and roof covering work together during severe weather. The goal is to reduce the ways wind and water can get into the home when a storm hits.

Class 4 Impact Resistance

CertainTeed Landmark ClimateFlex uses polymer-modified asphalt & carries a UL 2218 Class 4 impact rating.

Sealed Roof Deck

A secondary water-resistive layer helps limit water entry if shingles are damaged or displaced.

Stronger Attachment

FORTIFIED includes specific deck-attachment and edge requirements designed for better wind performance.

Independent Verification

A trained FORTIFIED Evaluator documents qualifying construction elements and submits them for IBHS review.

THE FORTIFIED PREMIER BUILD

Protection
layer by layer.

01

Impact-Resistant Roof Covering

Three CertainTeed roofing systems. Three levels of protection. One local team to help you understand exactly what is going on your home — before you choose.

02

Ice & Water Protection

True Line's premium package adds targeted water protection at critical perimeter and valley areas.

03

Sealed Roof Deck

A full-deck secondary water barrier helps protect the structure and interior if the roof covering is compromised.

04

Upgraded Edge + Flashing Details

Premium edge and flashing details are used to strengthen vulnerable transition points around the roof.

05

FORTIFIED Documentation

Required qualifying construction steps are photographed, documented and independently evaluated.

What gets protected beneath the shingles?

The second water-resistive layer matters because storm damage is not limited to the roof covering. Keeping water out helps protect the roof deck, insulation, drywall, ceilings, flooring and belongings below.

True Line package specification:

26-gauge drip edge / flashing details, perimeter and valley ice & water protection, and full-deck membrane are part of the proposed FORTIFIED Premier package. Final specifications should match the home's construction and current FORTIFIED requirements.

WHY HOMEOWNERS AND INSURERS CARE

A roof designed to reduce the size of the loss.

Today's insurance environment makes resilience more valuable. Deductibles, depreciation and roof-payment terms vary by policy, so the best strategy is to understand what you own before a storm — not after one.

Potential insurance savings

Certified FORTIFIED properties may qualify for premium discounts or rate reductions. The amount and eligibility depend on the carrier, policy and applicable Kentucky requirements.

Documentation your agent can use

The FORTIFIED designation gives you a record showing that qualifying construction was independently evaluated and documented.

Fewer pathways for water damage

A sealed roof deck can help limit interior water intrusion if severe weather damages the outer roof covering.

MANUFACTURER + INSTALLATION PROTECTION

Understand what the warranty actually covers.

Understand the distinction between shingle warranty, enhanced SureStart PLUS coverage, and contractor workmanship crystal clear.

Landmark®

Standard CertainTeed Landmark includes 10-year SureStart protection against qualifying manufacturing defects, plus True Line's stated labor warranty.

Landmark® PRO

Qualifying Integrity Roof Systems installed by credentialed contractors can receive SureStart PLUS protection, extending full manufacturing-defect coverage for materials and labor up to 50 years depending on warranty tier.

FORTIFIED Premier

FORTIFIED verification and CertainTeed warranty protection are separate layers of accountability: one verifies how qualifying resilience details were built; the other addresses applicable manufacturer warranty coverage.

01

Evaluate the Home

True Line inspects the existing roof system and identifies conditions that may affect package eligibility.

02

Choose the System

We explain the three options, the construction differences, the warranty level and any upgrades required.

03

Build + Document

For FORTIFIED projects, qualifying details are installed and documented throughout construction.

04

Independent Review

QUESTIONS ASKED BY OUR HOMEOWNERS

FORTIFIED Premier FAQs

Does every home qualify for FORTIFIED?

No. Existing decking, framing and other conditions can require additional work before the roof can meet current FORTIFIED requirements.

Is Class 4 the same thing as FORTIFIED?

No. Class 4 describes impact resistance of the roof covering. FORTIFIED is a construction and verification standard for the roof system.

Will FORTIFIED lower my insurance bill?

It may. Certified properties can qualify for insurance adjustments, but the amount and eligibility depend on the insurer, policy and applicable law.

Who verifies a FORTIFIED roof?

A trained third-party FORTIFIED Evaluator documents the qualifying work. IBHS reviews the documentation before a designation is issued.

Can I transfer my roofing warranty if I sell?

CertainTeed warranties can be transferable subject to their written terms. Transfer timing and coverage depend on the warranty level.

Can my insurance company choose my package?

Your policy determines what is covered. Your roofing system choice can include upgrades beyond what an insurer pays, depending on your goals and policy.
